Slow Saturday

I love Saturdays like this. The way Saturday is meant to be. Waking up casually with no alarm set, eating breakfast while laying in bed reading, & eventually getting out of bed to face the day... 2 hours after you woke up. Perfection.

After I leisurely made my way to the living room, my flatmate & I decided to check out Camden Market. It's supposed to be a place of cute little stalls filled with jewelry, antiques & more PLUS lots of delicious food. It was everything I expected it to be.

My lovely time to just sit & read this morning was everything I needed. Most of our weekends here are spent running to a foreign country or packing our day with adventures. Sometimes you just need to relax... Yes, my recent vacation was quite relaxed but there's nothing like a day to do nothing. I did do something today & have more to do but this morning allowed me to focus on what was to come later.

London is pretty infamous for their street market. There's tons of them all around the city & surrounding area, each with their specialities. I've heard Camden was especially good for food... so off we went.

It's about a 20 minute venture from our flat on the Tube - not too bad & WELL worth it. Once we changed to the correct line, the train was PACKED with people headed to this area. Quite the popular place I suppose. Check it out at : camdenmarket.com, for more of a glimpse. I promise I would've taken more pictures had it not been as cold! The sun snuck out for a little bit today but then quietly tucked itself back behind the could... boo!

This section had lots of tee shirts, cell phone cases & other unnecessary items.

This area had the food stalls. Clearly this is where all my attention went.

But before food - pretty pictures of the lock.

So I searched & searched before deciding on a jerk chicken box. I love me some jerk chicken & this was well worth it. It had a mango mayonnaise on the top. YUM. I devoured it in record time. Seriously, I ate this so quickly.

This place actually specialized in Octopus meals... Odd. There was everything from homemade lemonade to vietnamese food to gluten free specialities & snacks. Seriously, anything you could've wanted for lunch today you could find at Camden Market. The typical meal cost about 5 pounds - so about $7.50. Not too bad by London standards! I'm not complaining :)

I ended my day with a cronut. It was spring break so I KINDOF let myself eat snacks this week & enjoy all the food... Back to my healthy eating asap! But first, this delicious combination of a croissant & donut. It was everything you can imagine. I'm a HUGE croissant fan & would absolutely pick one over a donut but this was just pure perfection. Not too sugary or sweet but perfect.

Well, that was my adventure for this afternoon. Tonight we are off to the 02 Academy to see the Dropkick Murphy's. I'm not big into Celtic Punk music but friends wanted to go so here goes nothing! I'm sure it'll be an experience, to say the least. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.

Hope ya'll enjoy your weekend.
