Update!

Well..  I greatly apologize for the lack of updates in the past few days. I've been enjoying my time with my favorite ladies. So blessed to have them here & to be able os pend time with them in one of my favorite cities.

We spent yesterday catching up & eating more Mediterranean food. Ugh... It was nothing like grandma's. It was delicious & I am sure to the untrained food buds, it would've tasted amazing... but it was still pretty good! The grape leaves were amazing & I had delicious grilled chicken skewers. We hung out for a while in their room before I returned home to write a paper.

Today, the two of them went off to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Apparently it was crowded but it is also one of those things you have to see while her in London. They were going to try to visit the British Museum while I was in class but it wasn't open late! Boo!

I went to class while they went to eat. Magically, they somehow knew I wanted a pretzel from the Victoria train station... I got a text in class that said they got me a pretzel. Moms always knows best apparently... not that I'm surprised!

I PROMISE you that an update about our trip to Rome is coming soon! Maybe tomorrow? Who knows... I'm trying to spend as much time with the ladies as I can before they leave. Between classes & homework, writing on my blog is one of the last things I get to do each day. So forgive me?

So tonight, we headed to the Victoria Theatre & saw Billy Elliot. WOW! The show originated here in London & is currently celebrating it's 10th Anniversary. It was well worth the price - we are all still singing the songs hours later! The dancing - perfection. The singing & acting were amazing as well. I would recommend the show to anyone (though, lots of swearing so maybe not for young kids). We were in tears, laughing, & smiling. Truly a show that had it all.

So now we've separated for the night & I am off to write a paper. WOO! This paper has been being written for probably the last week & a half. I just haven't found the motivation to finish it yet - senioritis is coming a year early? Nah, it's just still spring break wearing off...

Happy Tuesday!

A Sunday in Roma

Today we explored the Coloseum & Palatine Hill. There are a million ways to spell Coloseum, so excuse my misspellings, if that's what they are.

The gruesome past of the Coloseum is truly disturbing, with over a million people being killed over the years of fighting. Not including the animals! Not sure I would've found it amusing.

Ignore my brief history, I'll provide you with more in the upcoming days. With lots more pictures taken on my camera.

But for now, enjoy these sites.

Day 2 - Roma

Hello from day 2 in Roma! We had an awesome day exploring the city & eating Italian food.

Here's the view from our villa. Yes, that patio is ours. In fact, I'm writing to you from it. Underneath the stars.
They gave her a coffee to go. Apparently it was delicious. I had a cappuccino- DELICIOUS.
Then, the 3 competent women figured out the transportation system. Here's the aunt & mom on the tram... notice their feet don't touch!

Honestly- the subway was DISGUSTING. I am SO SO SO grateful for London & their impeccable & clean transportation system. I'm blessed to be studying there.
We were wandering aimlessly towards the Vatican & stumbled upon a guided tour that allowed us to skip the line. Obviously we decided to join in & it was well worth it.
Dome of St. Peter's
Pictures are forbidden in the Sistine Chapel- God might smite me for this but here's a blurry photo of Michaelangelo masterpiece- the ceiling of the chapel.
Prepping for Palm Sunday
Vatican Square
St. Peter's.
The crew.
Swiss guards you had to ask for tickets to tomorrow's service
Tiber River
Tomorrow- we adventure inside here! But for tonight- just a walk around the outside
So blessed to explore with my mama
Maybe this rock used to be part of the Colosseum?
Our dinner. Wow. Well worth it. Here's aunt's salad. We had delicious bread that tasted just like grandma's, with a little added salt.
And tiramisu for dessert
Our villa

All in all, we walked for at least 7 hours today & saw some amazing things.

Honestly, Rome is dirty. It's nothing like I expected except in the ancient areas. The rest is covered in graffiti & not well kept. That part is slightly disappointing. But the area around the Colosseum was spectacular. To imagine they constructed something of that magnitude, but without modern technology, amazes me.

All in all, a great day. One more day to go!

Have a great night.

Roma- Day 1

Today, MAMA, AUNT, & I headed to Rome!!

After a jam packed day yesterday, we were exhausted. We walked around for 4 hours & just relished in our time together.  It was great. We parted ways at night & all slept so soundly.  No jet lag here- I'm amazed! I was jet lagged for days. But nope, these ladies were ready to rock!

Here's our lovely first dinner in Roma. We had fried mozzarella & veggies as our appitizer- YUM YUM YUM!

After our plane was delayed, we got a gorgeus view of the sunset as we were about to land in Roma.

We had gorgeous views of the Alps today- on our way to Rome. Wow. We all stared out the window for the entire second half of the plane right && the views were SO worth it.

Welp, the ladies in Roma are off to sleep. Lots && lots to see tomorrow. We have a LONG list of things we all want to see. && everything on the list is well worth it.

We'll see where we end up.

This trip is all about adventures. & bonding. I'm so blessed to be in this city with 2 of my favorite women. Can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us.

Not a thrilling update- as today was filled with travel.

Have a lovely weekend!
