Italia Day 3

I'm sorry but today's update will not be as thrilling as normal. Nonetheless, it was a great day here in Florence! How can it be a bad day when you're in Italy?

We spent our morning wandering along the river & admiring what has become one of my favorite views. Florence will always have a special place in my heart!

We then went to buy train tickets for our day trip tomorrow to Siena! We were going to do Cinque Terre but the tours were sold out & navigating our way there alone sounded scary. Plus the weather wasn't supposed to be great... why waste the money? Plus, I'll come back there someday anyway! I obviously have already started my plans of coming back to Italy!

We then had lunch at a mediocre place. The bruschetta here is always delicious but the other food failed to really impress. It's okay- one okay meal doesn't ruin a trip for me. Guess there's more pizza & pasta to be had elsewhere!

We then met a friend from SU who us studying abroad here. We has gelato with her & saw the Florence center. It has a garden! So much prettier & homelike compared to our center. I'm quite jealous!

We then headed back to our flat for a bit before heading to the Fiorentina game (Florence soccer team). Yes, it was pouring the ENTIRE time. But it was SO worth it. The game ended up being 2-1 against AC Milan & 2 of the goals occurred in the last 8 minutes. Yes, we might have been soaked but it made for great memories.

Side note- I bought a child sized poncho to brave the storm with. All was well until I ripped it! Never before has a child sized item been too small. Maybe I've grown? Maybe fluffier from all of this pasta & pizza?! Who knows...

Well, now I'm home ready to read & head off to bed. Hope your Monday was as fun as mine! Tomorrow is full day #4 & we're off to Siena!
