1. I am thankful for smartphones. I might be a bit too attached to my smartphone but nothing is more comforting than knowing my family is a phone call away. I am particularly thankful this week for an application that lets me call my grandma. Nothing makes my day more than hearing her "smile" through the phone when she figures out that I am calling. She is such a positive encouragement and never fails to make me laugh. I'm ever so thankful for Freedom Pop, which lets me call her for free! I only have 200 minutes for the semester free, but I think Grandma is worth the extra few dollars I might have to pay for our weekly chats after the 200 runs out.
3. This is my lame thankful for the week. I am truly thankful for my boyfriend, John. We might be thousands of miles apart right now but that kid still has the ability to make me smile at the drop of a hat. Though I struggled throughout the first few weeks here, John kept reminding me that this was my dream and I needed to be happy. Without his constant encouragement, I would not be as happy as I am. He has the ability to make me laugh, even through a Skype chat or a simple text message. I truly value the time he takes out of his day to ask me about mine and just talk about life. I'm truly blessed to have him as both my boyfriend and best friend.
4. Yes I'm adding a 4th this week! I am super thankful for my brother bear. This kid always responds to my texts and is the encouragement I need when I'm feeling sad. When I told him I would be spending the summer at home (I'll explain sometime soon!), he was super excited because it meant another summer of hiking with his little sister. I cannot wait to return home and join my favorite hiking buddy. Last summer, we hiked quite a few moments. There was never a dull moment on our hikes... we honestly would take for hours on end. II'm so blessed to have a brother that is there whenever I need him. We might've fought as little children, but I absolutely call you one of my best friends now. I love you!
I leave you with this... Piglet might've been very small but he always had room for gratitude.
Happy Thursday!
