Thursdays are for Thankfulness... Pt. 2

Hi All! Back again with my weekly post regarding thankfulness. Haven't you ever heard : a thankful heart is a happy heart? Well, it's that time again where I share what I am thankful for this week. Three things... If you can't find three things you are thankful for... you might have a sllliiiiiggghhhttt problem. Being thankful and looking around you, appreciating the small things, is something that can easily turn you into a more pleasant, positive, and happy person! So, the list you have been waiting for... here is this week's three!

1. I am thankful for smartphones. I might be a bit too attached to my smartphone but nothing is more comforting than knowing my family is a phone call away. I am particularly thankful this week for an application that lets me call my grandma. Nothing makes my day more than hearing her "smile" through the phone when she figures out that I am calling. She is such a positive encouragement and never fails to make me laugh. I'm ever so thankful for Freedom Pop, which lets me call her for free! I only have 200 minutes for the semester free, but I think Grandma is worth the extra few dollars I might have to pay for our weekly chats after the 200 runs out.

2. I am thankful for my education. I think I forget to thank my mom frequently regarding my education. How blessed am I that I am studying at a top university... and spending an entire semester studying in a foreign country? Not many people are as fortunate as I am. To be able to pursue a degree in an area where I am interested in forming my career. Education is something I believe we do not value frequently enough. Many people, all around the world, are unable to complete even basic education and we take for granted our higher education. So mom, thanks for making my education come true. Also, to all the great teachers I had over all of my years of education, thank you for making school worthwhile and creating a desire to learn in me.

3. This is my lame thankful for the week. I am truly thankful for my boyfriend, John. We might be thousands of miles apart right now but that kid still has the ability to make me smile at the drop of a hat. Though I struggled throughout the first few weeks here, John kept reminding me that this was my dream and I needed to be happy. Without his constant encouragement, I would not be as happy as I am. He has the ability to make me laugh, even through a Skype chat or a simple text message. I truly value the time he takes out of his day to ask me about mine and just talk about life. I'm truly blessed to have him as both my boyfriend and best friend.

4. Yes I'm adding a 4th this week! I am super thankful for my brother bear. This kid always responds to my texts and is the encouragement I need when I'm feeling sad. When I told him I would be spending the summer at home (I'll explain sometime soon!), he was super excited because it meant another summer of hiking with his little sister. I cannot wait to return home and join my favorite hiking buddy. Last summer, we hiked quite a few moments. There was never a dull moment on our hikes... we honestly would take for hours on end. II'm so blessed to have a brother that is there whenever I need him. We might've fought as little children, but I absolutely call you one of my best friends now. I love you!

I leave you with this... Piglet might've been very small but he always had room for gratitude.

Happy Thursday!
