Mundane Mondays

Today was a typical Monday.

I had class this morning where I learned about the great fire which burned most of London in the 1600s. It burned the church and Saint Paul's Cathedral was built to replace the previous. Apparently when the first first began, publishers put manuscripts and books into the church because they believed it would not burn down. Well, it did burn down and with it went books we will never know about. My mind is throughly boggled by that.

On Wednesday morning, we will be visiting the new church and climbing to the top. Rumor has it- the top provides one of the best views of London. If you can survive the chlosterphobic (my phone won't correct my spelling, forgive me) stairwells.

I also attended one of my favorite classes of the week, Sports in the United Kingdom! It was amusing to explore how differently sports are governed here and how their universities do not provide sport scholarships. They also have a lack of physical education courses in their school system. Public schools are the same thing as private schools. State schools are funded by the government. Confused? Me too.

I'm already in my third week of classes and have learned more then I could have ever imagined. The classes here are so stimulating and I am learning more and more on a daisy basis. I'm blessed to be here.
