So, for your enjoyment, here's a picture out the airplane window as we were approaching London and one of the Boston skyline before I get to the story.
You see, we were already on the runway about to take off, when we saw a bunch of cop cars and ambulances. Apparently there were two bomb threats all in to JFK and they were evacuating the planes in question. Thankfully no one was hurt (as far as I know). Then our pilot got on the loudspeaker and announced we would be returning to the gate for inspection of the engine. Four hours later, after dinner was served, we FINALLY left JFK.
We arrived in London at around 1:00 London time (or 8am back home). The result of almost 24 hours of traveling is some pretty jet-lagged kids. We checked in to our flat and promptly went in search of some much needed food. Then we headed over to the school for our orientation. Now we're back, both exhausted and ready to sleep. Trying not to sleep too soon! Maybe some unpacking should get done.
So here's to hoping the rest of our time here is SIGNIFICANTLY less stressful and more enjoyable! Hopefully less boring orientation sessions as well. School starts next week so that'll be fun to see how it goes.
That's all for now!
